Absolutely stunning couple of Greater argus pheasants. The great argus (Argusianus argus) is a species of pheasant from Southeast Asia. Carl Linnaeus gave the great argus its specific name because of the intricate eye-like patterns on its wings, in reference to Argus, a hundred-eyed giant in Greek mythology.

These birds died of natural causes. The skins were cleaned and processed to serve as a decorative object.  The images shown are part of the description.
